Guest speaker Tony Axford from the BECIR outlined a simple way to put together a business strategy or plan to suit you, not the bank.

Using planning a holiday as an analogy he broke down the required steps and pieces to putting together a plan or strategy for your business. While quite a bit more informal than one you would take to the bank it sounded practical and had an ease of use feel about it. Definitely not something that is pages long and sits in the bottom draw or too hard basket. If you are in business then you are in risk. So without a Plan A or a Plan B for the how's and what if's in your business, how will you avoid falling into a shaky situation? A plan doesn't need to be boring or overly lengthy. If you liken it to the steps you take to planning a holiday then you may have a better chance of digesting what is required and relevant for you and your business. Once you have put something down on paper don't shelve it or put it in the bottom draw as a job well done but never to be seen again. Test it, change it and develop it regularly.
