2011 Management Committee with the Business Achiever Award 2011We're pleased to anounce that Westside Business Women Inc. took out the Community Service and Non-Profit Organisations category at the 2011 South-West News / Springfield News Business Achiever Awards.

Mike O'Hagan really got everyone thinking about the possibilities of their businessGuest speaker, Mike O’Hagan, founder and chairman of short-haul removal firm MiniMovers raised eyebrows at WBWI’s May breakfast networking event by predicting that 80% of Australian businesses will be outsourcing administration, research, web and graphic design overseas within the next decade. Mike emphasized not to focus on the loss of jobs because of moving technology but to focus on the idea that jobs will just change.

A big thank you to Tamara Simon from Take Another Look who was our guest speaker at last months event. The topic was 'Who is really running your business'. What a breath of fresh air... Tamara's down to earth personality really shone through making her topic on business strategy so easy to listen to and understand. She gave some very practical advise on how we can re-gain control in our businesses no matter how big or small they are.

International Women's Day 2010

On Monday the 8th March 2010, WBWI was represented by 12 lovely ladies, at the International Women's Day Seminar organised by Ipswich City Council. Thousands of events are held around the world each year continuing to inspire women and celebrate the strengths and achievements of women locally and globally. Thank you to those who attended helping keep this great tradition alive.
