Last Month we were lucky to have Karen Schmidt an award winning speaker, workshop leader and facilitator, to deliver the topic 'Engaging Clients in Small Businesses'. Well Karen certainly didn't disappoint. She delivered a vibrant and interactive topic that is a must for all business owners to master - Engaging with their clients!
Now for some words of wisdom learned at this meeting…
At times we can get caught up in the day to day business processes or even get a little driven by the dollar. But we must remember that we are dealing with a client, yes a real person, who has needs. What they need is why they are looking to doing business with you. Always be reliable, creative and responsive to their needs but also make sure you follow through with all promises. Generally people are searching for a good product, good price and a CONNECTION. Clients are looking for a leader, someone that knows their stuff, someone that can give the best solution to suit the client. So be an expert in your field. Know everything there is to know about your product or service. Show care that every person / job is unique and tailor solutions to suit them. If not you may as well be completely blunt and say; 'Hi, I'm such and such, can I have some of your money?'. Is that what its come down to for you? Also consider what about you… don’t you want to enjoy your experience dealing with clients too? Enjoying what you do every day really shines through to your clients as well as making your job fulfilling. They will see how genuine you are to help and are more likely to try your product or service. So be your best, enjoy what you do and start to engage with your clients.
3 Simple tips on how to engage better….
Be completely clear about:
1. Who you are and what you do.
2. Who you do it for.
3. How you deliver your message.
On behalf of the WBWI Management Committee, we hope you enjoyed the first of many fantastic speakers and topics we have lined up for 2010. We look forward to seeing you at the next Westside Business Women Inc. Event on the 24th Feb.
