First of all, thank you Sandy Olsen from Innovativ-E-news, our presenter in Feb. The topic was 'The Importance of Viral Marketing'.

I don't know about you but at first I thought the word 'VIRAL' sounded a bit strange to use to describe email marketing for business. It seemed to have a negative feel to it and sounded like we should be talking about a cold or virus. BUT..... In actual fact, viral is really a great description of how 'word of mouth' gets spread. Its quite an organic process which happens naturally when we get given a piece of info that interests or affects us or we have a good or bad experience with something. For example if you snag a bargain on a great pair of shoes, don't you want to tell someone about it? How much they cost, where you got them etc. We constantly spread the word on various topics everyday without realising it. Sandy not only explained how we can harness this powerful way of communication in the form of email marketing to spread the word about our businesses but also gave some great tips about what content we should send our clients, how to build our databases, how to stay compliant with the anti-span act and much more.
